INITIATIVE

The health of planet earth has been changing for some time now. Each degree temperature increases, a fire that repeats itself more often or an ice area that breaks off more easily, are all signals about the health state of the planet.

This is why Earth is saying was born. An initiative that seeks to give the planet a voice - its own voice – so its call is no longer ignored by humanity. This is a voice that we all can and should understand. For this to happen, we created the first earth´s Twitter account without human intervention. The earth itself will be the one that uses this space and its voice to call for human attention. By synchronizing satellites and climate monitors around the world, along with an AI platform, we convert the collected information into tweets launched by the earth from its own Twitter account to ask for help and tell the world its health must improve for our own sake.

Join now, follow the earth on Twitter and help us spread her voice.

Greenpeace Colombia supports the platform “Earth is saying”. Such a platform will work throughout a Twitter profile, and will be sending messages backed up by scientific evidence and approved by climate institutions endorsed globally to the public. The idea is to launch the “voice of the earth” in order to generate awareness, direct an accurate information regarding the effects climate change and human activities are generating on our planet.

We believe this is a unique initiative that will provide technological and public mobilization innovation. It will contribute to keep spreading to wider audiences truthful information related to the state of the planet as well as enhancing citizens' agency to actively participate in the campaigns Greenpeace have been developing along more than 30 years in the Andean region to mitigate the adverse effects human activities had been generating. The Twitter profile will be focused on sharing data and information regarding 4 main topics: air pollution, quality of air in urban spaces, fires and deforestation rates in key ecosystems.
